John
Miner has been a photographer since his school days, however it wasn’t
until the mid 1980’s he became a professional photographer when the editor
of the Cairns Post (North Queensland Australia) saw his work and offered him a job,
He shot news and
fashion for the paper for several years and he saw this as an opportunity to open a studio
to supplement his income from the newspaper.
After 12 years in Cairns travelling around Northern Australia and New Guinea
as a photojournalist he moved to Brisbane.
He has developed a reputation as a very creative photographer, it’s said
he has “the eye” for photography having the ability to see a shot that many
photographers would miss. He loves photographing people at work or play
and has photographed many celebrities over the years.
For the last 10 years he has specialised in Travel Photography.
Most of John's work is for News Ltd (Rupert Murdoch) although he still
enjoys doing private assignments.
